The meeting was called to order at 7:32 PM by President Michael Pellek, who welcomed and thanked the 16 members in attendance. There followed a flag salute and a moment of silence for those gone before us. The President reported on Paul Allen's letter about school inspections. He also described the recent President's meeting which the Deputy Commissioner briefly attended, the new computer system planned for the Division, Dr. Frank Field's presentation at the President's meeting, and the fact that there are thirty days until residential sprinkler regulations die.
Vice President Vinny Corsaro reported that DFS wants us to use them more.
The Treasurer's report was given and accepted as read
Paul Elenio gave the State Report.
Forest Fire Service Report stressed that it is very dry and we are expected to move from moderate to high risk within a few days. FFS has available an excellent DVD on the Wildfire Protection plan designed to protect structures. They will be hiring some new people.
State Association is very concerned that with only one month left before the residential regulations we all worked so hard on are scheduled to expire that there is little hope. They plan to go down fighting.
Pub-Ed meeting is in September
To President Pellek's surprise it was announced that the Fire Safety Trailer is at the Academy.
Revision of the By-Laws was further discussed. The general feeling was to continue the email vote using a free program to manage the election so that it will remain secret. A motion was made, seconded, and passed to adopt electronic voting.
There was no Old Business.
New Business:
It was discussed that residential sprinkler requirements are not going to be signed and that many people die in residential fires including around 50 firefighter's each year.

Good and Welfare:
It was requested that the Secretary send sympathy cards from the association to the families of Nick Best and Bobby Jenkins.
